Beyond Containment: The Collision at the Intersection of Criminal Justice & Poverty

BEYOND CONTAINMENT

In an effort to reframe the lens on public safety, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Offices for the City of Richmond, Henrico County and Chesterfield County, in conjunction with the Office of Attorney General, are promoting a regional summit to deconstruct some of the core drivers of crime. The summit will highlight certain factors that contribute to crime in our region. It will challenge participants to consider how local policies and stakeholders may be inadvertently contributing to the problem, rather than the solution.

The primary focus of the Beyond Containment Series is to bring together community members and decision makers to engage in a deeper analysis of the root causes of crime.

The kick-off session, entitled, “The Collision at the Intersection of Criminal Justice and Poverty”

September 27, 2019 at the Claude Perkins Center at Virginia Union University
