Mark your calendars for November 27, 2018
What is #GivingTuesday? – Giving Tuesday is a national day of generosity and giving. It falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving annually. It is a movement to create a national day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Everyday people donate to causes that are important to them. #GIVINGTUESDAY is one of the most important days for grassroots organizations, like our own. Nolef Turns, Inc. kicks off our annual Holiday Help Campaign each year on #GIVINGTUESDAY. We accept donations for the upcoming holiday giving season in the forms of gift cards, new and gently used clothes/coats, shoes, books, toys and non-perishable food items. We distribute to children with incarcerated parents, who are identified by participants in our program. While donations are typically accepted year round, donations collected from #GIVINGTUESDAY up until the week before Christmas are dedicated to families with incarcerated parents.
Donations given throughout the year impact children with incarcerated parents, individuals who need job training and assistance following a felony conviction, families of those currently incarcerated with travel and emergency assistance, persons who want to start their own businesses, people who need interview clothes and work boots/shoes, and so many other programs that help reduce recidivism and crime in our communities throughout Virginia.
Now that you know, consider supporting our work in the community. Mark Tuesday, November 27th on your calendar and follow Nolef Turns Inc. as we get prepared for the holiday season. All donations are tax-deductible!
